Shoot Date: – 22nd October 2016.

Today Luke introduced me to Lauren Ashleigh Hall. No studio again today, so we were out and about on the streets of Birmingham. Lauren had lovely, fine black hair with bonded hair extensions so this was a factor I had to consider while styling her hair.

Firstly, I created two Dutch braids, side by side, right on top, where a T-section would be with a middle parting. Next I threaded a silver metal chain between both braids to create a corset style and to give the braids some edge, instead of my usual ribbon.

For the next set of photos we decided that we wanted Lauren’s hair down. I wanted to create a look using a few of my gold chains and also some feathers, so I created small braids either side of her head, but hidden under Lauren’s hair as it fell from her parting. These were to be used as links to fasten the chains to, so they would sit securely across her forehead.

For the last style I created a waterfall braid while being careful not to expose any of the hair extension bonds. I then attached one of my hair chains in a loop style to enchance the style.

Lauren was so nice, and even gave me a lift back home. I can’t wait to work with her again, and we are now in the process of arranging another shoot. Yay! Watch this space…
